Based on "A Dream Within a Dream" by Edgar Allen Poe

The top sheet

Take this kiss upon your brow!
Go and make the bed right now,
This much let me avow--
You are not wrong, to deem
That I really shouldn’t scream;
Yet my hope has flown away
After the night, day after day.
Is a vision of a tidy room-
My mirage-yours to impugn?

All that I see or seem
Is but a dream to have things sort of clean.

I stand–amidst the eyesore
Emitting a lonely lion’s roar,
Holding within my hand
The top sheet,”folded” by a madman?
How cruel! And yet you knew
The chaos that would ensue,
Is my only choice Bellevue?!
O Husband! can you not grasp
The origin of my wrath?
O Husband! can you not save
Yourself from the inexorable wave?
All that I can see or dream:

A well made bed, and you redeemed.
